As we continue our series on “the Kingdom of God is like” let me share this thought from yesterday with you again. In Matthew 13:31-32 it says,
31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
So the Mustard seed is the Kingdom of God or the revelation we have of Jesus. The field is our hearts. When the Kingdom of God is received into our hearts, even though it might be small, it will grow bigger and it will have an impact on the world around us.
I’ve seen this time and again in others and also in my own life. I’ve seen people fall in love with Jesus and give up everything to serve him. Yesterday I shared how I gave up a job to volunteer in the Youth ministry and that through that a door opened up into the world I now live in today. Whatever I lost in terms of finances and opportunities in that role, I gained a thousand times over.
I want to encourage you today to allow the Kingdom of God to sink deep into your hearts. It will change you, it will transform you. You will grow and your life will make a difference in the lives of others.
I believe we are called to make a difference. Whether small or great, whether it be to impact the life of one person or many. Our lives, once that seed is in there is to be used to make a difference. Everything you need you already have. The Kingdom of God is in you.
Cheering you on, Nu and Taua.
