This is going to sound a bit crazy for some but we are in the final month of 2017! It’s surreal to think that another year is coming to an end and a new one is about to begin.
If you’re like me, then in amongst the final preparations before your well-deserved break, you’ll be looking back at how the whole year has panned out. As you begin you’ll be reminded of some of the “wins” that took place, maybe you got the promotion, maybe you finally bought the house or maybe you finally met the love of your life. Then you’ll probably move towards some of the challenges that took place this year maybe health challenges, maybe marriage difficulties, maybe financial strains. Reflection is actually a good thing to do (as long as you don’t camp in the challenges too long).
I love this time of the year as I get to reflect and celebrate all that God has done in my life personally and also in ministry. But the best thing is being able to look ahead with a fresh perspective and being excited about every possibility.
I believe 2018 is our year. God is bringing greater clarity in our Vision, in our DNA, in our Ministries. Without wanting to sound cliché “THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”
One of the most exciting things about this year has been the visit from Ps Edgar and Beth Martin from the Philippines. We’ve been connecting now for over 4-5 years and I’m pleased to announce that we are taking our relationship to the next level. Ps Edgar and Beth and the LEOJCC Church will become a part of our Elim Church Family officially in 2018. We are still working through the details of what this will look like so watch this space!
We are also pleased to announce new tenants are moving into the building. Currently we have:
We still have some spaces available if you know of anyone looking for space.
Our Key focus for 2018 will be on Discipleship through our Connect groups. Our goal is to see over 50% of our people involved in personal discipleship through connect groups, being mentored and mentoring others. Currently it’s sitting around 25%. Our heart is for all our people to grow in Spiritual Maturity through relationships in the Church family. We’ll be sharing more about how this will all begin in 2018.
Finally to everyone who served as a Volunteer in one of our teams this year. Taua and I and the staff want to say a massive thank you. It’s through your sacrifices that we are able to do what we are doing.
All our volunteers should be receiving a Christmas card and Box of chocolates and a reminder to book the 24th of February 2018 into your diaries for our Volunteer Appreciation Party. Its going to be something special.
We love you guys and we love what God is doing in us as we connect, be equipped and use our lives to influence our world. Blessings and Love Nu and Taua.
