It’s been a little while since I last posted something about what God has been revealing to me. But I thought to write a short encouragement for you as you continue on in your week.
Last Sunday I shared a personal story of regret in missing an opportunity to share to a Jehovah's Witness who was door knocking in my neighborhood. I talked about how I was so focused on getting a deck finished that I didn’t take the time I should have taken to listen and share with this person. Basically it was an inconvenience to what I was doing at the time.
God has a funny way of redeeming situations because last night in the middle of dinner I had a knock at the door. It was a salesman promoting insurance. As I answered the door, fresh in my mind was the story I shared on Sunday. So for the next hour I sat with him in my lounge and heard his pitch, but an amazing thing happened, interspersed throughout our conversation we started having deeper discussions. I was able to find out he was a Hindu but had attended a Catholic school as a child. So we began to talk about Faith and Religion, we talked about prayer and healing. We even talked about Morality and Good and Evil. At the end of our time I invited him to our Church and said you’ll love it there and your kids will love our programmes.
God can use any situation for the advancement of His Kingdom. Every encounter is an opportunity to share the love of Christ to a world in need. We are not just hearers of the Word but Doers.
You are Gods chosen instrument to meet the needs of a hurting world. Through you the message of hope and love will spread. When you recognize that opportunity is knocking at your door and you take a hold of that, wonderful things will happen. You Matter!
Take a risk and invite someone to Church this Sunday. Let’s fill the place with expectant hearts, hungry to see God move. Let me finish with this scripture Galatians 5:14 “For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Have a great week, see you on Sunday.
Nu and Taua.
