Well firstly I want to thank everyone that was involved in some way in yesterday’s Christmas Celebration Service. It was so good to see so many families join with us for the first time from our Elim Early Learning Centre and from our Music and Munchies group as well as many just checking out the church. It was great to see the place packed. I understand there was standing room only down the back!
Like many of us, I’ve personally had a busy run to the end of the year, but I truly do believe that we are finishing the year well. I’m believing next year is going to be a big year for us as we continue to outwork the new vision - “Connect – Equip –Influence.” I’m excited about all the possibilities that will come with the New Year.
In all my years of ministry in and outside the church one thought has never left me …”Be faithful in the little, be faithful in much.” The key to the Christian walk has always been to just be faithful. To be full of faith. As we look forward to a New Year, let’s look through the lens of faith – faith to dream big dreams, faith to take big steps. Faith is spelt R-I-S-K so take a few risks next year and see what God can do in you and through you.
When you pray your prayers of faith be very specific, be very detailed about it. I remember many years ago Taua and I were desperate to buy a house. So we decided to make a list of everything we wanted in a home. It was a detailed list. We wrote down things like … “I want to be close to a park … Open plan living … four bedrooms.” You get the picture! We would pray over our list in our cold two bedroom unit that we were renting. Two years after writing that list we were in a house auction on a property Taua really liked and we ended up being the only bidders and bought the property for a really great price. The first day we took possession of the house I walked around it and realised everything that was on our list was in this house. Isn’t that amazing! That’s God and the power of faith and the power of prayer.
So have a faith-filled holiday. Believe God and believe in the bigness of God. Nothing is impossible for Him!
Cheering you on in 2016.
Blessings and Love
