I’m sure that many of you will have already seen the latest announcement from the authorities regarding the new restrictions on public gatherings because of the Covid-19 crisis. In light of this development, our Eldership have decided to suspend our weekly Sunday services at both campuses for the foreseeable future with immediate effect. This is not a decision that we have reached lightly as we really value gathering together as family, however we genuinely believe that this is the most responsible course of action for us to take.
As an alternative we will be live streaming one service from our City campus on Facebook at 10am on Sunday, including live worship and our special guest speaker Ps. Mike Knott. This will be available on both our Elim Church Christchurch City and Burnside Elim Community Church Facebook pages. The recording will also be available for you to watch at a later time if you so choose.
We want to encourage you to reach out to your small group or those who you’re in relationship with and see if you can organise to meet together on Sunday morning to watch our service together. We don’t want social distancing to result in social isolation for anyone. We are aware that this is a time of great uncertainty and anxiety for many people. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us here at church if you’d like to talk or pray - our pastoral care number is 022 044 0285.
In amongst it all, let’s keep believing together for God to bring about a change in this situation. Nothing is too hard for Him. He has not been caught off guard by any of this, and He is with us as we continue moving forward and finding out more.
Blessings, Nu and Taua
