Has anyone else noticed how fast this year seems to be going? We are well into the School year, Uni has started back and the thoughts of holidays for most seem like a distant memory. In the midst of it all we witnessed another major event in our City with the Fire breakout on the Port Hills. Some of our people were impacted by the fire either by evacuation or in assisting on the frontline or in helping to stop the fire. We are so thankful that those families were safe and able to move back in. Unfortunately not everyone was safe from it with one Helicopter pilot, known by many in the Christian community, losing his life in a tragic accident.
Over the last few weeks I’ve been able to connect with families in our church listening to their stories and finding out about what God is doing in their lives. Let me just say, we have amazing people in this church!! Taua and I have been encouraged time and time again. I hope to be able to get to meet with more families as the term progresses.
On that note, I would love to challenge you to reach out and invite someone around for lunch or a coffee. For Young Adults we have organized weekly lunches each Sunday as a way to build connections. For those not in the Young Adults age group we have connect groups being promoted this week. It’s a bit of a risk but why not reach out and do the big ask.
This year is about growing in God, in Spiritual maturity. Let’s grow together!
