Good morning church;
Well I’m back after a week away at our National Conference followed by a week with Jessica and Madison for school holidays. As with most holidays the time goes by so quickly but I do feel like I’ve freshened up and I’m ready to hit the ground running again. At this year’s Conference, pastors from around the country had to elect 5 people onto the National Leadership Team of our movement. I had put my name in the hat and I’m pleased to announce that I’m officially a member of the NLT for the next three years. This means I’ll support Elim pastors from a specific region of our country. This also allows me the opportunity to meet with pastors who are at the “next level” you might say. My hope is that I’ll be able to learn even more skills, gain more knowledge from these great leaders on how to be an even better leader here in our church. Also at this Conference we voted in a new National Leader - Ps Luke Brough from Elim Christian Centre in Auckland and a new Deputy National Leader – Ps Tom Hatch from Elim Christian Centre in Blenheim. 'It’s a New Day' was the theme for the Conference and it’s a new day for us here at Elim church – Christchurch City. I’m also very excited to announce that after working for months with the eldership and other key people from our church we’ve finalized a new vision for the church. Over the last four years we’ve been focused on Elim being a place where hope is received and hope released. And although in essence this doesn’t change. I’ve felt that it was time for us to really define who we are and who we feel God wants us to be over the next 10 years. This vision is future focused while dealing with the now. It is a vision that we can all have a part to play from the youngest to the oldest, regardless of background or experience. I can’t wait to share this with everyone later in November. Finally I just want to again thank you all for your giving of time, talents and treasures. Being good stewards is such an important part of what it means to be a mature Christian. I’m so grateful to everyone for playing their part and shining their light for Jesus through our church. Have a great week, see you on Sunday. Blessings Nu
