10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
I will never get tired of this story. It was the beginning of the redemption of my soul and that of every man, woman and child. This is why it was such good news for us today. The promise of the Messiah, the Lord, was fulfilled in his arrival.
I can remember with my own children there was great excitement as we waited for the girls to arrive. Taua and I had lots of questions…what they would look like? What type of personalities would they have? How would we cope? Questions raced through our minds a million times over. But once they arrived and we saw them for the first time none of those questions seemed important. All that did matter was that they were here and that was enough to fill our hearts with love, joy and excitement.
This Sunday we celebrate the arrival of Christ Jesus. The promise, the Messiah, the Lord, the Good News to all men.
I want to encourage you to join with the rest of our church family this Sunday 21st of December at 10am for a time of real celebration. We will sing carols, hear the Christmas story in the form of a play by the children and after the meeting we will have a BYO Picnic at Hagley Park by the pools together as a church family.
It’s been another big year for all of us, a lot has happened so let’s take time out of our busy lives and reflect again on the Good News of the arrival of Jesus Christ.
Love to see you there and invite your friends and family they will not be disappointed.
Blessings and Love, Nu and Taua
