Well what a weekend we’ve just had with Aaron More at Burnside Campus and Ivan Wong Kee at City. We were just so blessed by the word that each of them brought around the sermon series “Jesus Said”.
I’m so excited by what I’m experiencing at each campus. I see new excitement and anticipation in the atmosphere. A sense of the Bigness of God about to explode over our Church. I love how God always has the final say. In the beginning He spoke and things were made, in the end He will speak and establish his rule and reign for all of eternity. But between these two points in time, God continues to speak. He speaks life over us, promises over us, truth over us, freedom over us.
There’s nothing that God cannot do with a word. One word from God is all we really need. I want to encourage you to allow God to continuously speak into your situation. Let him be part of your daily life and infuse you with faith, hope and love. The Author and Perfector of our faith, Is constantly writing the word on our hearts. Its truth strengthens us, sustains us, keeps us moving forward and giving us courage to try new things.
Thank you God for your Word, both spoken and Written. May it forever change us and set us up to live out all you planned for us both individually and as a Church. In your wonderful name. Amen
Let me share some amazing news. We are now up to 120 Christmas Boxes purchased for our Christmas appeal. We still have 3 weeks to go to reach our target of 200 boxes. We will be taking up a special Christmas Offering on the 15th of December at our combined Kiwi Christmas Celebration. So if you haven’t already done so why not by a box for $30.00 and bless a family this Christmas.
Speaking of the 15th of December we are having a Combined service celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ at our 9am and 10.45am services. This is a combined campuses service at the City Campus so plan to be there and bring people and let’s enjoy these services together.
Please keep praying for our transition in one Church. We are doing so well in connecting. The staff have been amazing at both Campuses. I want to thank every staff member and those who help make our Church what it is. You are all amazing and I know God is with us, guiding every decision and every step.
This Sunday we start our new series “Choose Joy” as we step into this new month. Why not invite someone to one of our services. We promise to always give an opportunity for prayer and for Salvation. You never know, this Sunday could just be the one that that loved one you have been praying for makes a decision to follow Jesus. Have a go and see what might happen.
Have an amazing week. Be a blessing to someone. See you this Sunday.
Nu and Taua.
I hope you’re all enjoying this weather! I love Summer. Time to get out the shorts and Jandals and head for the beach. It’s a great time of year.
Firstly I wanted to say thank you to everyone that supported the Light Party on Thursday. It was so great to see kids enjoying themselves, families connecting and those Star Wars guests were amazing. Thank you to Richard Kenny our amazing intern. You and the team were amazing.
This is an update on what is happening so you are all in the loop with the Campuses. On Sunday I was with our Burnside Campus. It was my first Official Sunday as the Senior Pastor of Burnside. I spoke on Legacy of Freedom and had a great response to the message.
There is a great feel in the place. A lot of people have been waiting for change and I think they are excited about what is happening.
So my schedule over the next two months is to alternate between Campuses each Sunday. I’ll speak at Burnside one Sunday then at City the following. Along with this I’ll spend Wednesdays at the Burnside Office to be a support to the Campus and staff there.
I’ll still be available to the staff and Church if needed. I know this will be for a short time and so I don’t see any major issues. To be honest the team at City are so good at what they do I sometimes just end up getting in the way.
I love how God thinks and how he acts. Isaiah 55:8-9 says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, “ declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts then your thoughts.”
I’m so encouraged and challenged by this. Simply put “God is in Control”. He knows what He is doing. I just have to trust in him to lead the way. How awesome and scary is that!
This Sunday I know will be one of my most favourite Sundays of the Year. Ps Murray Robertson from South West Baptist is speaking. Ps Murray is a living legend and a statesman for the Kingdom of God in Christchurch. He has, over the past 30 years, Mentored countless numbers of Pastors from multiple denominations in Christchurch as is a great source of wisdom and support for me.
Do whatever you can to be here this Sunday at our City Campus, Ps Murray is an amazing teacher of the Word so bring pen and paper to take notes!
Finally, with all the changes and increase of responsibility in my role. I’m going to need more people to be praying for me. I want to thank those that currently do cover me and the family in prayer, you have been amazing and we have felt blessed. But I know I’ve got to go to a whole new level so with this in mind. I need more people to be praying for me. So I’m calling on anyone in the Church that would like to sign up to be regularly praying for me and Taua and the Church. Could you please contact me on Faamanu.firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll add you to a regular email that I’ll start producing.
We are in for great things because we serve a great God.
