In Psalm 25:8-10 it says: Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
It was wonderful to be able to pray for our kids on Sunday. So many children all over the country are heading back to school for another year. There they will be taught, challenged, stretched. They will have great wins and successes; they will see disappointment and even failure at times. But it will be a year of growth and change for each and every one.
It will also be a year for our teachers to inspire, challenge, stretch the minds of our children. As they navigate their way through course curriculum they will encounter moments for learning, moments when the light will go on in the mind of a child. They will also experience the disappointment and struggle of a child. This is part of what it means to be a teacher in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
I heard it once said that being a teacher is great but being a compassionate teacher is better.
God is not just our teacher but he is a compassionate, loving teacher. In 2020 we all like so many children will be challenged stretched, we will have great wins and successes and we will experience disappointment and even failure. But don’t forget our great teacher is a good teacher. He is loving and compassionate in his ways. He will be kind and loving as he teaches us his ways. And when the light finally goes on he will be there to celebrate with us. Let the lessons begin and enjoy the journey.

Good News from the Philippines. The Volcanic Emergency warning has been downgraded to a level 3. This means some evacuees will be able to return home. Please keep praying for Ps Edgar and Beth and the Elim Bauan family.
Also lots of exciting things coming up this Term.
Have an amazing week. We love and appreciate you guys.
Nu and Taua.
Happy New Year Church!
I hope you’ve all had a great break or are having a great break with family and friends. Taua and I and the girls have had a great time away visiting family and enjoying the sunshine and down time. But it is good to be back.
I get the sense we have shifted another gear. I loved seeing everyone again on Sunday and being able to worship together in our own church. I know we are about to see some of the things we've been praying for come to fruition this year. So prepare to be blessed. God is good and he is in control.
I am so excited about this year. I know we are in for another big year with our new Campus and Ps Phil and Bronny back to help lead this.
We have a lot of great things coming up this first term. So get your diaries out and take note of these dates.
Some of you would have heard the news about the Philippines. I am going to reach out to Edgar this week and get an update on how things are for them but please keep praying for the Church and for Edgar and Beth and the City. They need all the prayer they can get.
For those that are interested in supporting the people of Batangas, I’ll have a clearer picture of the needs once I speak with Ps Edgar but we will definitely be planning to do something so I’ll keep you updated via our Facebook page.
God is in control. Our hope is in the name of the Lord.
Have an amazing week and keep looking for opportunities to be a blessing.
God Bless, Nu and Taua Telea.
