This Easter brought with it a lot of disappointment and a lot of victories through the kiwi “can do” spirit.
Easter camp 2014 was cancelled due to bad weather leaving thousands of young people devastated and a lot of church equipment saturated or destroyed. But this didn’t stop the organisers from coming up with a plan to try and rescue the weekend. A decision was made to run a worship tour in three locations. It was organised on the fly with next to no time to prep, yet it was attended by youth groups from around the city and exceeded all expectations. When you’re back is up against the wall you have two choices, runaway or stay and fight. The team from Easter Camp chose to do the latter and for that our kids were blessed. Well done to Mark Palalagi who was a part of the Satellite band that headed the weekend and well done to our amazing Youth Leaders, Phil, Miriam, Aaron, Adelaide, Patrick and Derian and to Camp Parents Paula and Glen Marsden for making the best out of a difficult time. I am so proud of you all. One last thing to mention, our Easter service on Sunday saw our largest attendance this year at our 10am service. So well done everyone, let’s see if we can better that this weekend with Ps Tak Bhana from Church Unlimited in Auckland. Keep attending and keep inviting others. See you this weekend. Blessings Nu
