Ecclesiastes says there’s a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot…
Christmas can be a chaotic time of year. There’s so much to get done. Organizing last minute things at work, organizing the amazing holiday. Organizing the kids to make sure they’re not spending the whole day in bed or in front of a screen. Then there’s the last minute shopping that has to be done. The extra family members that you weren’t expecting for Christmas day lunch. The lunch itself, what to cook or where to have it, the list goes on and on.
I think if we’re not careful we can miss what Christmas is really meant to be about. God announced to the World through the angel that the Messiah had come, his name was Emmanuel which means “God with us”. God had come into the world to save the world. To bring us out of darkness into his marvelous light.
You know one of the Names of Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Peace had come into the World. But not Peace by human standards this is a different sort of peace. An inner Peace that stills the heart and rests the soul. 1 Peter 5:7 says cast all your anxiety on him for He cares for you.
I want to encourage you to let go of all the burdens you’re carrying today. The stress and anxiety that is heavily weighing you down and let God come in and take the pressure and the weight away.
Christmas is about Christ bringing the Peace of God into the world. He came to set us free from anxiety, fear, worry, doubt. He came to refresh our souls and renew our minds.
Before the rest of the Holiday period takes over make it a family goal to attend our Christmas Eve Service this Sunday. When you’re in a place where the Spirit of God is moving freely and his presence is clearly there. You’ll feel the weight of the World lift off of you.
The Bible says “where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom”. Freedom through the Peace of God is what we need this Christmas season. This Sunday morning will be a great reminder of that.
Let your heart Worship God and let everything else fade away.
Taua and I are so blessed to have you as part of our church family. You matter so much to God and you Matter so much to us.
See you this Sunday.
Blessings and Love, Nu and Taua.
